Our goal is to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander empowerment and prosperity across health, education, employment, housing, law, justice, language and culture.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders living in Far North Queensland contribute to the uniqueness of life in the tropics. They represent 14.3% of the region’s total population; four times the national average. Cultural, linguistic, economic, social and religious diversity prevails among the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population. Affirmation of human rights and social inclusiveness underpins socially cohesive and enriched societies. The commitment to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander development and prosperity across such areas as health, education, employment, housing, law, justice, and language and cultural maintenance promises new futures for all Australians.
